Former VP Bukenya Suspects Son Was Murdered, Not Killed in Accident

Former Vice President Prof. Gilbert Balibaseka Bukenya has reignited questions surrounding the mysterious death of his son, Bryan Bukenya, revealing new details that point to possible foul play.

Speaking in a recent interview, the former VP—who is also a medical doctor—disclosed that when he viewed his son’s body, he was shocked to find one eye missing. This, he says, immediately raised suspicions that Bryan may have been killed earlier, with the Mityana road accident cited at the time possibly serving as a cover-up.

“I am a doctor. When I saw the state of my son’s body, I knew something was not right,” Bukenya said. “Finding an eye missing made me believe this was not just an accident.”

Prof. Bukenya further revealed that despite repeated requests, he has never been given the postmortem report. He claims he even personally knew the pathologist who carried out the examination, but the doctor refused to disclose any details—allegedly out of fear.

The former VP said that for years he had tried to appear as though he had moved on from the loss, but deep inside, unanswered questions have continued to trouble him.

Bryan Bukenya’s death at the time was officially reported as the result of a tragic accident in Mityana. However, these new revelations from his father add a fresh layer of mystery to the case, raising concerns over whether the true circumstances surrounding his death were ever fully investigated.

Prof. Bukenya’s emotional account has stirred public interest, with calls from some quarters for a transparent review of the postmortem findings and a deeper probe into the events leading up to Bryan’s death.
