Journalists in Lango are mourning the sudden death of their colleague, Benedict Otim Walumbe. He collapsed and died yesterday 16th October at around 9 a.m. while returning home from town in Jinja Camp, Lira City East Division.
According to reports, Otim Walumbe left his home to go shopping. On his way back, he collapsed and began vomiting. Friends and neighbors rushed to the scene and took him home, but after a few minutes, he passed away.
George Opio, his elder brother, stated that Otim Walumbe had been battling low blood pressure for a long time and believes this contributed to his death.
Otim Benedict Walumbe worked as a news anchor at Radio Waa Lira before later joining Vision Group. He died at the age of 37, leaving behind three orphans and a widow.
Otim Walumbe hailed from Iceme Sub County in Oyam District and will be laid to rest on Saturday in the Same area.
