KAMPALA, Uganda — The Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) has intensified its grassroots mobilisation efforts following a series of high-level engagements held earlier today at its Secretariat in Naguru, Kampala.
The meetings were led by the Director of Mobilisation, Micheal Mawanda, who also received a surprise courtesy visit from dedicated political cadres. The team congratulated him on his recent PO07 appointment, in a moment marked by celebration and renewed commitment to the organisation’s mission.
During the engagements, Mawanda hosted several notable figures, including Mushemeza Elijah Dickens and Mr. Richard Akuku, a prominent supporter of PLU and Muhoozi Kainerugaba from West Nile.

The discussions focused on strengthening collaboration, enhancing mobilisation strategies, and deepening grassroots structures across Uganda.
Speaking at the meeting, Mawanda emphasised unity and coordination as critical pillars for the organisation’s success. He noted that PLU is committed to building a stronger, more inclusive movement that reflects the aspirations of citizens across the country.
“These engagements are key in aligning our efforts and ensuring that we mobilise effectively at every level,” Mawanda said, expressing optimism about the partnerships being forged.
The gathering also provided a platform for PLU supporters to share ideas and strategies aimed at expanding the organisation’s reach, particularly in the post-election period. Participants highlighted the need for structured mobilisation, research-driven approaches, and sustained engagement with communities.
PLU leadership reiterated its commitment to promoting patriotic values and strengthening national unity, as the organisation continues to grow its presence nationwide.
With momentum building, these stakeholder engagements are expected to play a crucial role in shaping PLU’s mobilisation strategy and future direction.
