Led by Rt. Rev. Bishop Sanctus Linos Wanock of Lira Catholic Diocese, Hon. Amongi trekked through the streets in remembrance of Jesus, who suffered carrying the cross before his crucifixion. She covered a distance of about 10 kilometers, ranging from Uganda Martyrs Cathedral in Lira to Boundary Road, Kampala Road, Juba Road, Uhuru Bar, and Obote Avenue to Lira Central Police Station roundabout.

It was at the Lira CPS roundabout where the symbolic Jesus’ Cross, representing his journey to crucifixion, was passed on to the energetic Hon. Amongi, who safely delivered the Cross to Lira Cathedral Church. This serves as a clear demonstration of Hon. Betty Amongi’s devotion to her Christian faith.
