Amolatar Residents Eagerly Await President Museveni’s Campaign Visit

President Museveni registered and updated his particulars in the register as a member of the party
AMOLATAR, Uganda  –  A wave of anticipation is sweeping through Amolatar district as residents and local leaders prepare to warmly receive His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who is scheduled to visit on Thursday, October 5th, 2026, as part of his national campaign tour.
The visit, confirmed by district National Resistance Movement (NRM) officials, is seen as a significant event that has galvanized the local party structure and its supporters. The air is thick with expectation, with many residents’ expressing excitement to hear directly from the President.
The President will be hosted by the party’s full slate of flag bearers for the district, demonstrating a unified front ahead of the elections. The hosting team includes Dr. Agnes Atim Apea (Woman MP flag bearer), Felix Adupa Ongwech (Kioga County MP flag bearer), Peter Okodo (Kioga North MP flag bearer), James Auna (LC5 Chairperson flag bearer), and Kamilo Olwit, the NRM District Chairperson.
Local leaders have been vocal in their praise for the President and his government’s record. Felix Adupa Ongwech, the flag bearer for Kioga County, expressed gratitude for the visit, stating, “We are deeply honoured by the President’s decision to come to Amolatar. This shows his commitment to every part of Uganda. I call upon our people to rally massive support behind him come 2026 for the further advancement and development of our district and the nation.”
Echoing this sentiment, NRM District Chairperson Kamilo Olwit highlighted the developmental achievements under President Museveni’s long tenure. “The NRM government under the steadfast leadership of Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has delivered unparalleled peace, stability, and progress to Uganda. We in Amolatar have been beneficiaries, and we pledge our total and unwavering support for him in the forthcoming elections,” Olwit remarked.
The administrative voice of the government, Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Francise Okello Odoki Rwotlonyo, framed the upcoming election in stark terms. “The NRM government is the proven medicine for peace, stability, progress, and development. I urge the entire Lango sub-region to recognize this and vote wisely for His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to continue steering the country towards prosperity,” the RDC advised.
The enthusiasm is not limited to party officials. Susan Acen, a resident of Namasale town council, praised the government’s recent poverty alleviation programs. “We thank the President for initiatives like the Parish Development Model (PDM) and the Social Assistance Grant for Empowerment (SAGE) for our older persons. These programs are putting money directly into our hands. People should not be blindfolded by the opposition, especially UPC, with empty promises,” Acen stated.
As preparations enter their final stages, Amolatar is set to offer a fervent reception to the President, with local leaders hoping the visit will solidify support for the NRM across the district and the wider Lango sub-region in the 2026 general elections.
