Lira, Uganda  – Senior Presidential Advisor for the Lango Zone and Erute South MP hopeful, Hon. Sam Engola, is determined to secure the MP seat for Erute South in the 2026 general election.

In a recent media interview held in Lira, Engola confidently assured the people of Lira District that he will be the next Member of Parliament for Erute South, under the NRM party ticket. He emphasized the strong support he has and the reasons behind his anticipated victory in both the NRM primaries and the general election.

Engola also addressed concerns raised by some aspirants in Lira District, who he claimed are discouraging the public from repaying PDM (Presidential Direct Massages) loans. He criticized these actions as misleading and detrimental to the region’s progress. He remarked, “I do not want to segregate anyone. I am a father, a mentor, and a strong NRM supporter who wishes to see the Lango sub-region develop. Anyone who is misleading the people based on religious or cultural issues is unfit for the 12th Parliament.”

Engola further emphasized his dedication to the NRM party and his active involvement in supporting education, churches, church leaders, and various community groups. He reiterated his commitment to rapid development in Erute South, Lira District, and the broader Lango sub-region.

Currently serving as Senior Presidential Advisor in charge of the Lango Zone, Engola has received widespread praise for his efforts and is seen by many as the “real engine” behind NRM in the region. His leadership qualities have made him a strong contender for the MP seat, with a reputation for delivering services and progress to the people.

Engola’s long-standing involvement in the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party includes serving as the NRM National Vice Chairperson for Northern Uganda and as a state minister. Notably, he also played a key role as a member of the Constitutional Assembly that drafted the 1995 Ugandan Constitution. His views align with the NRM party’s manifesto and policies, and he believes that his lobbying capacity and influence will be maximized if elected as MP for Erute South.

In his political career, Engola has championed various initiatives and projects, including the construction of churches, schools, and the improvement of education standards in Lira District. His continued support for the NRM’s agenda reflects his commitment to contributing to the development of the Lango sub-region.

With the 2026 election on the horizon, Engola’s supporters remain optimistic that his leadership and dedication will bring about much-needed change and development in the region.
