Musoke Wins 2025 Equity NARO Golf Open as Kyomugisha Shines in Ladies’ Category

Namulonge, Uganda Dominic Musoke produced a composed and consistent performance to claim the 5th Edition of the Equity Bank Uganda – Equity NARO Golf Open 2025, finishing with an impressive 2-under-par total of 208 over three rounds.

Musoke carded 14 birdies, six bogeys, and two double bogeys across the tournament. He opened with a strong 2-under 68 before returning consecutive level-par 70s to secure his second Equity NARO Open title. His steady play earned him a five-stroke victory over the highly decorated Joseph Chinyaai.

Chinyaai, who finished second, has been the standout golfer of the season with eight tournament wins, including the Kakira Open, Kinyara Open, Uganda Open, Uganda Ladies Open, President’s Cup, and the Entebbe Open.

Charles Jjunju of Namulonge took third place, while Juma Abiti finished fourth. Defending champion Abdullah Kakooza settled for fifth place after a difficult outing, posting a total of 22-over-par, finishing 13 strokes behind Musoke.

In the ladies’ category, Meron Kyomugisha extended her winning momentum from the Kinyara Open to seal the women’s title with a total score of 221. She dominated the field, defeating Joyce Kisembo (238) by a margin of 17 strokes. Resty Nalutaaya finished third on 241, followed closely by Peace Kabasweka, who carded 242.

The tournament, held annually at the National Agricultural Research Organisation (NARO) Golf Course in Namulonge, is sanctioned as an Amateur World Golf Ranking (WAGR) event, attracting some of Uganda’s finest emerging golf talent.
