Rubirizi Schools Qualify for USSSA Regional Games in Ibanda

Schools from Rubirizi District have secured their spots in the upcoming regional competitions after an intense and competitive USSSA district championship, with both boys’ and girls’ teams battling it out for qualification.

The tournament, marked by thrilling encounters and dramatic finishes, saw top-performing schools emerge to represent Rubirizi District at the regional level in Ibanda District.

Girls’ Competition

In the girls’ category, Ryeru Seed School emerged champions after edging Ndekye Secondary School 1-0 in a tightly contested final.

Ndekye SS had earlier delivered a strong performance in the semi-finals, defeating Maria Girls Centenary School 3-1, while Ryeru Seed School overcame St. Michael High School 2-0 to book a place in the final.

Boys’ Competition

In the boys’ category, Kichwamba High School were crowned champions after defeating Unique High School 1-0 in the final.

Kichwamba High School had earlier dominated the semi-finals with a commanding 6-0 victory over St. Thomas Vocational School, while Unique High School edged ABB Bakyenga Vocational School 1-0 to reach the final.

Qualified Schools for Regionals

A total of 12 schools—six from each category—have qualified to represent Rubirizi District at the regional level in Ibanda.

  • ABB Bakyenga Vocational School
  • St. Michael High School
  • Katunguru Seed School

Girls’ Teams:

  • Ryeru Seed School
  • Ndekye Secondary School

  • Katerera Comprehensive High School

The qualified teams will now prepare to compete at the regional championships in Ibanda District, where they will face top schools from across the region.
