Hoima City has embarked on a significant road rehabilitation endeavor, focusing on three key routes totaling over 11 kilometers in length.
Brian Kaboyo, the esteemed Lord Mayor of Hoima City, disclosed during an interview with Kabalega FM that rehabilitation works have commenced on three vital roads. These include the Kibingo-Kyabalyanga stretch, spanning 4.0 kilometers and slated to cost approximately 107 million shillings. Additionally, the Kasingo-Kasasa route, covering 2.3 kilometers and requiring an estimated budget of 61 million shillings, is undergoing rehabilitation. Furthermore, efforts are underway to improve the Kyedikyo-Bulinda-Kasomoro road, which extends over 5.5 kilometers and necessitates an investment of approximately 147 million shillings.
The commitment to infrastructure enhancement doesn’t end there. Mayor Kaboyo also announced plans for the commencement of rehabilitation works on the Kichwamba-Butebere road, stretching 5.0 kilometers and anticipated to cost 80 million shillings, scheduled to begin within the week. These initiatives underscore the city’s dedication to enhancing its road network for the benefit of residents and visitors alike.
Looking ahead, Mayor Kaboyo emphasized that numerous other roads, totaling over 30 kilometers across the city, are earmarked for rehabilitation within the current financial year.
