ALEBTONG, UGANDA – The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Alebtong, Mr. Okiswa Geoffrey, has extended a formal invitation to all residents of Alebtong Town Council to attend a vital Community Baraza scheduled for Saturday, 14th March 2026, at the Alebtong Town Council.
The event is set to commence at exactly 9:00 AM sharp and promises to be a landmark gathering for community dialogue and development.
According to RDC Okiswa, the upcoming baraza aims to foster transparency, address local concerns, and strengthen the connection between government officials and the people they serve.
“Community members are encouraged to attend in big number and participate in discussions on key issues affecting the district, including service delivery, infrastructure development, and public safety.
Highlighting the significance of the event, the Hon. Minister of General Duties at the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest.of the day . The Minister will be accompanied by area Members of Parliament representing Ajuri, Moroto county among other dignitaries in Alebtong District.
In his invitation, the Alebtong RDC Okiswa Geoffrey emphasized the importance of civic participation. “Please come all and keep time,” he urged, calling on residents from all warda and cells within Alebtong Town Council to attend in large numbers. He assured the public that the Baraza will provide a platform for open dialogue, accountability, and joint problem-solving approach as well as way forward.
Barazas are a traditional and effective forum offering citizens direct access to leaders and decision-makers. It is therefore expected to draw thousands of residents eager to voice their concerns, interact with leaders and contribute to the development agenda of Alebtong district.
The RDC added that it is essential for fostering unity and accelerating development. “When leaders and citizens sit together, solutions emerge,” he said.
“Residents are advised to arrive early and come prepared with constructive ideas and questions” Stated Okiswa.
The baraza comes at a critical time as Alebtong continues to advocate for improved roads, healthcare, education, and economic opportunities.
