Former Busiro South MP aspirant, Paul Owor, found himself facing legal trouble as he appeared before the Entebbe magistrate’s court on Friday, March 15, 2024. The court, presided over by Chief Magistrate Stella Maris Amabilis, charged Owor with fraud, impersonation, and land malpractice, leading to his remand to Luzira prison.
Owor faces four counts of forgery, uttering false documents, obtaining money by false pretense, and conspiracy to commit a felony. These charges stem from allegations that Owor defrauded Ms. Loyce Nahwera of Shs75 million under the guise of selling her a 100×100 piece of land in Namulanda zone, Kajjansi Town Council, Wakiso District.
In response to the accusations, Owor vehemently denied any wrongdoing, claiming that the charges against him were part of a political witch-hunt aimed at damaging his reputation among his supporters. Despite his denial, the court proceeded with the legal proceedings, remanding Owor to Luzira prison pending further investigation and trial.
