Patrick Okidi, Obongi  – Obongi district leaders have expressed gratitude to President Yoweri Museveni and the government for fulfilling the pledge to provide new road equipment.

The Woman MP for Obongi, Honorable Maneno Zumura, the District Chairperson, Hajji Buga Khemis, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Otim Benson Humphrey, and Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka received new road equipment for 14 new districts.

The Obongi leaders emphasized that the new equipment will facilitate social and economic transformation in the district, as farmers are currently facing challenges in transporting their harvested produce due to poor road conditions.

They highlighted that, under the 1 billion shillings grant allocated to the district, a significant portion was being utilized for repairing old road equipment borrowed from Moyo district. They described these borrowed equipments as an embarrassment, frequently breaking down and consuming excessive funds from the district.

The leaders emphasized that Obongi district, lacking even a single inch of tarmac or first-class murram, requires substantial affirmative action.
