Okidi Patrick, Obongi District – Exciting news from Obongi district: many residents, especially court clients, can now expect quicker access to justice.
His Worship Ngamije Mbale Faishal has been appointed as the Grade 1 Magistrate for Obongi district, effective immediately. He was formally introduced to the District Security Committee, chaired by Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Obongi Hasaka Samuel Mpimbasa, at the district council hall.
Mr. Ngamije Mbale Faishal’s appointment follows a recent request from the Obongi District Security Committee highlighting the lack of a magistrate, state attorney, prison facilities, and a remand home. These deficiencies were contributing to an increase in crime rates and denying justice in the district. Faishal assured the committee that court hearings in Obongi would commence immediately, noting that Obongi’s recent elevation to county and district status marked this as a significant development.
This marks the first time Obongi district has had a magistrate, and many residents have expressed their appreciation to the NRM government for addressing their long-standing need for accessible justice, which previously required them to travel to Moyo district.
