Gen Kainerugaba Hosts Turkish Defence Company Karel at Uganda’s Ministry of Defence
This afternoon, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Chief of Defence Forces of Uganda, welcomed a delegation from the Turkish defence company Karel to the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs (MODVA) headquarters in Mbuya. The meeting highlighted Uganda’s ongoing efforts to enhance its military and defence capabilities through international partnerships.
Karel, a prominent player in the global defence industry, was established in 1986 and has since accumulated over two decades of experience in providing advanced military and defence solutions. During their visit, Karel representatives presented their latest products, which are designed to meet various defence and military needs.
The company boasts an annual revenue of approximately $350 million and employs around 5,000 people. Karel’s experience and resources position it as a significant contributor to the defence sector.
General Kainerugaba, who also holds the position of Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations, extended a warm reception to the Karel delegation. The meeting underscored Uganda’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and exploring new opportunities for collaboration in the defence sector.
