The Uganda Police Force on Thursday conducted a successful recruitment exercise for Probation Police Constables (PPC) at Alarm Technical School in Oyutu Cell, Luna Ward, Pader Town Council.
The event, held on May 2, 2025, attracted 101 candidates, all of whom had been shortlisted for interviews. The exercise was overseen by a high-profile team led by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Barugahare Christopher, who was assisted by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Okae Ben, the Regional Police Commander for Aswa East.
Also present were SSP Elwer Eugene, the Regional Human Resource Officer, and Inspector of Police (IP) Oloya Joe, the Regional Police Spokesperson. The recruitment began at 8:38 am with a briefing by ACP Barugahare.
The rigorous exercise involved a 5-kilometer body fitness run, followed by medical checks, oral interviews, and aptitude tests. Of the total candidates, 78 were male and 23 were female, reflecting the police force’s ongoing commitment to gender-inclusive recruitment.
The process concluded smoothly at around 2:00 PM without any major incidents reported.
According to IP Oloya Joe, the recruitment was part of a broader regional effort to strengthen the Uganda Police Force through structured and merit-based selection. He commended the discipline of the candidates and the cooperation of the local leadership.
The exercise marked day three of the ongoing PPC recruitment campaign in the Aswa East region.
