Kampala, Uganda –Controversial city tycoon Don Chris, known for his flashy lifestyle and extravagant spending on music events, has reportedly settled in Paris, France, after fleeing Uganda amid mounting accusations of fraud linked to his company, Skypins Tours and Travel.

The immigration company, previously based at Haruna Mall in Ntinda, ran aggressive adverts on TV, radio, and social media, promising lucrative job opportunities in Europe and America. In several public messages, Don Chris warned hopeful clients not to sell property or take loans for paperwork, cautioning that visa approvals were not guaranteed. However, many Ugandans ignored his advice—some sold homes, others borrowed heavily—and paid upwards of Shs10 million in hopes of securing a better future abroad.

Now, those dreams have turned into a nightmare.

Reports indicate that Don Chris fled the country with over Shs1 billion, leaving behind hundreds of angry victims, some of whom are seen in circulating videos pleading with authorities and public figures like Mama Fina and Uganda Police for help.

“I Won’t Refund a Single Coin” – Don Chris

In a recent interview with Spark TV, Don Chris shocked many when he openly stated that he will not refund anyone. He challenged the victims to take him to court, boldly declaring that “I will win because I’m protected by the law.” He further claimed that none of the complainants had any legal proof that he personally received their money, as he allegedly never signed any receipts.

No Justice in Sight

Despite the public outcry, no arrests have been made. Many victims say Don Chris has long enjoyed protection from powerful figures, making justice feel out of reach.

With Don Chris now reportedly beginning a new life in Europe, hopes are fading that the affected Ugandans—many of whom are deep in debt—will ever be compensated.
