Alebtong, Uganda – The Alebtong Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Okiswa Geoffrey, has kickstarted a massive mobilization drive ahead of the expected visit by H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the NRM Presidential Flag Bearer.
According to RDC Okiswa, President Museveni is expected to address a public rally on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Boma Grounds in Alebtong Town Council, Alebtong District. The rally will mark the official launch of the President’s campaign in the district, where he will formally seek electoral support for the upcoming 2026 General Elections.
On Tuesday, September 30, 2025, RDC Okiswa presided over an Emergency District Security Committee meeting to assess the district’s readiness to host the first public political campaign rally.
He confirmed that President Museveni will campaign at Boma Grounds in Alebtong on the morning of October 2, 2025.
“We appeal to the general public to turn up in extremely large numbers,” RDC Okiswa echoed.
He also commended H.E. Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for numerous government programs and achievements, including Parish Development Model (PDM), Emyooga, Youth Livelihood Program (YLP), Uganda Women Entrepreneurship Program (UWEP), and other long-lasting development initiatives.
RDC Okiswa further praised Hon. Denis Hamson Obua, describing him as a vibrant leader who has delivered tangible development to Ajuri County and Alebtong District both as MP and Government Chief Whip (GCW).
Rt. Hon. Denis Hamson Obua, MP for Ajuri County and NRM Vice Chairman for the Northern Region, is in full coordination of the President’s visit and campaign activities across the Lango Sub-region.
RDC Okiswa noted that President Museveni will address the Alebtong rally under the campaign theme:
“Protecting the Gains.”
“Please come one, come all, in big numbers,” said RDC Okiswa.
On Sunday, Rt. Hon. Denis Hamson Obua launched a mobilization campaign ahead of the President’s visit, stating that campaign activities will run from October 1 to October 7, 2025, across the Lango Sub-region.
According to Hon. Obua, the President will hold his first campaign rally on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, in Amolatar District, followed by a second rally later the same day in Dokolo District.
On Day Two, President Museveni will visit Alebtong and Otuke Districts, with subsequent rallies scheduled daily until October 6, 2025.
Hon. Obua confirmed that H.E. the President will be traversing all nine districts in the Lango Sub-region, including Lira City, over a week-long campaign tour.
