The Security Guru AIGP Ngaruye has outlined 7 reasons why Ugandans must continue to support H.E President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as seen below.
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s leadership has been instrumental in transforming Uganda into a stable and prosperous nation. One of his notable achievements is the enhancement of joint military operations and strategic planning, which has improved the overall effectiveness and efficiency of Uganda’s military. This has also promoted greater collaboration and cooperation between different branches of the military, ensuring a unified approach to national security .
Under President Museveni’s leadership, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) has successfully mobilized Ugandans to support its vision, fostering a sense of national unity and purpose. This has been achieved through grassroots engagement and empowering local communities, leading to significant progress in various sectors. By promoting participatory governance, President Museveni has ensured that citizens are invested in the country’s development, contributing to Uganda’s stability and growth ¹.
President Museveni has also strengthened the Judiciary’s capacity to deliver justice and promote the rule of law. Key achievements include a 43% reduction in crime rate over 12 years, courtesy of the Justice, Law and Order Sector (JLOS) cooperation. The Judiciary has also reformed 40 out of 44 laws, improving the business environment and reducing regulatory burdens .
In addition, President Museveni has significantly enhanced national security and stability through the Internal Security Organization (ISO). ISO’s crucial role in monitoring priority government programs and collecting intelligence on subversive groups has successfully combated threats, including radicalism, rebel groups, and drug cartels ¹.
The government’s initiatives in promoting community policing, border security, and disaster management have also improved the overall security landscape. This has fostered greater collaboration and cooperation between security agencies and local communities, ensuring a safer and more secure environment for Ugandans .
President Museveni’s guidance has also led to significant milestones in enhancing national security and safety through effective crime management. The Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) of the Uganda Police Force has been ranked the third most effective investigative agency in Africa, scoring 74% in a survey by Kenya Trak.
Furthermore, President Museveni has made significant strides in promoting decentralization and cultural preservation. The introduction and actualization of the Decentralization Policy in 1997, under the Local Government Act, has empowered communities to participate in decision-making and management of services such as education, health, and agriculture .
Overall, President Museveni’s leadership has been instrumental in transforming Uganda into a stable and prosperous nation. His commitment to national security, justice, and decentralization has ensured that Ugandans enjoy a safer, more secure, and more prosperous environment.
