Rtd. Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye addressed delegates of the Lango Sub-Region on Friday. He said he does not see any problem with attending the delegates conference, which is the supreme organ of the party. If the members of the supreme organ say there is no problem, then there is no problem. If the members say there is a problem that needs to be solved, then the supreme organ will solve it. All kinds of ideas will be discussed at the meeting, and any wrong information will be corrected.

Besigye said he is not seeking any leadership position in the FDC, and he does not even seek a flag to contest in the elections. However, he believes that the delegates conference is the next chance for members to address any problems in the party. If the conference does not take place, then the FDC may not be the same as it was before.

Over 100 FDC delegates from the Lango sub-region gathered at Sun City Hotel on Friday to discuss their problems and concerns about the party’s direction in the 2026 elections. Ogwang Sadam, an FDC mobilizer for Lira City, said that people should listen to Besigye’s advice. He also said that each district has been allocated UGX 1 million, as communicated by the FDC secretary for administration, Arnold Kaiza.
