Fatal Road Crash Takes BBS TV Engineer’s Life on Kampala-Masaka Highway

A technical engineer working with BBS Telefaniya lost his life as a result of a road crash. The Police in Nsangi, Wakiso district, are actively searching for the truck driver responsible for the accident, which took place on Tuesday morning.

The victim, identified as Eng. Ahmed Busuulwa Ssenabulya, aged 41, was on his way to work, riding a motorcycle from his residence in Nakitokolo, Nsangi sub-county, to his workplace in Bulange, Mengo. The accident unfolded at Nabbingo, a known blackspot along the route.

According to the police report, the incident transpired when a white Fuso truck, bearing the registration number UBA 752T, experienced mechanical problems and brake failure. Subsequently, it collided with Eng. Ahmed Busuulwa Ssenabulya, who was riding a red motorcycle with the registration UEJ 703Y. Both vehicles were moving in the same direction at the time of the accident.

Tragically, Eng. Ahmed Busuulwa Ssenabulya lost his life instantly in the collision, which took place at approximately 8:00 am on Tuesday, October 31, 2023. The driver of the truck fled the scene and was still at large as of the time this report was written.

The police from Nsangi promptly responded to the incident, retrieving the victim’s body and transferring it to the City Mortuary in Mulago for a postmortem examination.

The news of Eng. Ahmed Busuulwa Ssenabulya’s untimely demise shocked his colleagues and superiors at BBS TV. The Chief Operations Officer, Dunstan Busuulwa, expressed his astonishment, as most employees were anticipating their colleague’s routine arrival at work.

The victim’s body was subsequently relocated from the mortuary to his home in Nakitokolo, where preparations for his burial were underway. Eng. Ahmed Busuulwa Ssenabulya had recently celebrated his introduction and wedding on September 17, 2023, at his newlywed wife’s residence in Lwengo. Many of his coworkers had attended the festivities and were deeply saddened by the unfortunate incident.

A police brief from Nsangi confirmed that an inquiry into the cause of the accident had been initiated, and updates on the investigation’s progress would be provided to the public.
