Police in Sheema District are searching for the body of a four-month-old infant who tragically died in a car accident on December 5th at approximately 9:00 pm at Kooga, the border between Mbarara and Sheema Districts.

According to Marcial Tumusiime, spokesperson for the Greater Bushenyi Police, a Toyota Premio with registration number UAW 931D lost control and veered off the Mbarara-Bushenyi highway near Kooga, plunging into a water-filled stream, resulting in the infant’s death.

Tumusiime explained that while other occupants of the car sustained minor injuries and were rescued, the infant tragically slipped from the maid’s grasp and was swept away by the water.

Despite ongoing efforts by authorities, including divers and local residents, the retrieval of the infant’s body has proven challenging.
