PADER, Uganda — The Pader Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Milton Odongo, has ordered the arrest of Pukor and Acholibur parish chiefs over extortion claims linked to the Parish Development Model (PDM) program.
Following numerous complaints from community members, the RDC wrote a letter to the Pader District Police Commander (DPC), detailing the extortion allegations against the parish chiefs in the Acholibur and Pukor sub-counties.
During security sensitization meetings held in the two sub-counties on September 3rd and 5th, residents accused Ojara Balam, the sub-county chief of Pukor, and Opio Mark of Gotokongo parish in Acholibur sub-county, of extorting funds from beneficiaries of the PDM program.
The RDC’s letter directed the DPC to arrest, recover the extorted money, and prosecute the two parish chiefs.
Ankole Times newspaper has obtained a copy of the letter addressed to the DPC by RDC Odongo Milton.
