The Rt. Rev. Dr. Paul Samson Naimanhye, Bishop of Busoga Anglican Diocese, has resumed his duties against medical advice after undergoing two surgeries for transurethral resection of bladder tumor (TURB) at EUROCARE Hospital Nansana in Wakiso district in December last year and early last week.

Despite being advised to take bed rest following the surgeries, the bishop made his public appearance by presiding over the confirmation of 105 Christians at Christ’s Cathedral Bugembe in Jinja city on Sunday. Rev. Can. Dr. Joy Mukisa Isabirye, the sub-dean of the cathedral, acknowledged that the bishop was supposed to rest based on the surgeries but did not specify the recommended duration.

During his address to the congregation, Bishop Naimanhye expressed his determination not to succumb to self-pity and challenged the congregation to exhibit similar resilience, urging them not to get tired in their spiritual journey. He addressed concerns about Christians fearing to come to the cathedral due to its location on a hill and encouraged them to overcome any hesitations about attending prayers and other activities.

To the confirmants, the bishop emphasized their role in speaking on behalf of the Church and spreading the message of Jesus’ goodness, commissioning them for their newfound responsibilities.
