This collaborative initiative between MTN Uganda and the government aimed to provide improved accommodations and enhanced learning environments for visually impaired students.

The newly constructed dormitory, representing an investment of Shs295 million, celebrates MTN Uganda’s 25th anniversary and features a 70-bed capacity. The facility is fully furnished with 40 beds and mattresses, offering self-contained units and caretaker quarters. State-of-the-art safety measures, including firefighting equipment, security cameras, and fire detection systems, ensure the students’ comfort and security.

This development primarily benefits the 36 girls currently attending the Salama School for the Blind, supporting their educational pursuits and well-being. Alongside the dormitory, the school has received a modern computer lab tailored to the unique needs of visually impaired students.
