Isingiro Receives 600 Tablets from War Child Holland to Boost Primary School Learning

Isingiro District has received 600 tablets from War Child Holland to support learning in primary schools across the area.

The devices were officially handed over on Monday in a brief ceremony attended by district leaders and education officials. The donation is part of efforts to expand digital access in rural communities and improve the quality of learning for pupils.

District Chairperson Aaron Turahi welcomed the support, saying the tablets will help bridge the digital gap between urban and rural schools.

“This is a timely intervention for our learners. Many of our schools have limited access to digital learning tools. These tablets will go a long way in improving how our children study and interact with educational content,” Turahi said.

He added that technology is becoming an important part of modern education and urged school administrators to ensure the devices are used properly and maintained well.

Education officials in the district said the tablets will be distributed to selected primary schools, with priority given to those in hard-to-reach areas. Teachers are also expected to receive guidance on how to integrate the devices into classroom lessons.

Representatives from War Child Holland said the donation is aimed at supporting children’s education and promoting equal learning opportunities, especially in underserved communities.

Local leaders expressed optimism that the new devices will boost pupils’ interest in learning, improve digital skills, and enhance overall academic performance.

The district has pledged to monitor the use of the tablets to ensure they benefit the intended learners and contribute positively to education standards in Isingiro.
