Police in Mbarara District are investigating the death of a 52-year-old businessman, Joshua Kazoora, whose body was discovered near his cattle kraal in Rubindi Central Cell.
According to reports, Kazoora was last seen alive on Sunday evening in Bwizibwera. His family found his lifeless body early Monday morning at his kraal in Rubindi Central Ward while going to milk the cows.
Speaking to local authorities, a police spokesperson said, “We are treating this as a sudden death and have launched investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding it. We are also examining any health records that may provide clues.”
Preliminary postmortem results indicate that Kazoora died as a result of hypertension. Police confirmed that there are no signs of foul play at the scene.
Friends and neighbors described Kazoora as a hardworking businessman and cattle farmer who was actively involved in the local community. “He was always ready to lend a hand and guide young people in business and farming. His death is a big loss to our community,” said a neighbor.
Kazoora’s family has called on the community to support them during this difficult time, and local authorities have urged residents to seek regular health check-ups, especially for conditions like high blood pressure that can lead to sudden complications.
Police investigations are ongoing to confirm the exact cause of death and to ensure there was no external factor involved. The Mbarara District Police have also advised the public to report any unusual circumstances they may have noticed in the days leading up to the incident.
Joshua Kazoora is survived by his wife, children, and extended family, who are mourning his sudden passing.
