Below are some of the most respected figures making waves in 2026 in the Acholi area:
- Lt. Gen. Charles Otema Awany
A peace-loving figure from the Palamac clan, Lt. Gen. Charles Otema Awany is celebrated for his relentless pursuit of peace and unity in Northern Uganda. He is the son of the late Ojok Awany. He recently declared his political ambition to contest for the Bardege-Layibi Division parliamentary seat. 2. Hon. Justice Alfonse Chigamoyi Owiny-Dollo

3. Prof. Morris Ogenga Latigo
