Minister Encourages Youth to Embrace Internet for Socio-Economic Progress

Internet Users in Uganda Spend an Average of Shs5,000 Monthly on Data

Minister Godfrey Baluku Kabbyanga emphasized the importance of internet access for young people in Uganda, stating its potential for self-employment and community development. He urged youth to utilize internet opportunities to create networks and employment prospects.

The Digital Communities Project, funded by the American Tower Corporation (ATC), was launched, establishing digital labs in various locations across Uganda. These labs provide internet access and computer skills training to empower youth.




Ms. Dorothy Kabagambe, CEO of ATC, highlights the company’s commitment to addressing societal challenges through digital empowerment. She emphasizes the importance of digital skills in problem-solving and bridging the digital divide.




Mr. Joseph Kizito from the Uganda Communications Commission warns against internet misuse, including fraud and spreading misinformation. He encourages responsible internet usage for positive impact.
