Napak, Uganda –– The handover ceremony for the Napak Resident District Commissioner (RDC) office took place on Thursday at the district headquarters. During the event, RDC Odongo Milton addressed a gathering of stakeholders and civil servants, assuring them that he is approachable and always open to communication.
As a child of the NRM revolution, Odongo shared his extensive experience, having served in various districts including Kaberamaido, Gulu, Amuru, Kasese, Lira, Nabikatuk, and Pader. Now, he returns to the Karamoja sub-region, where he is ready to serve as RDC of Napak.
Odongo’s predecessor, RDC Amos Asiimwe, will continue his work in Pader District, where he has been reassigned. Odongo expressed his gratitude for Asiimwe’s contributions and wished him well in his new role.
In his address, Odongo emphasized the importance of security as a collective responsibility. He warned, “We don’t want any Ugandan to be disorganized when it comes to security. Nobody will be allowed to cause insecurity to others.” His statement underscored his commitment to ensuring peace and stability in the district.
CAO Okumu James welcomed Odongo to Napak, highlighting the district’s administrative structure, which includes 59 parishes and two counties. He assured the new RDC of a conducive working environment, noting that Napak consistently ranks among the top districts in the Karamoja sub-region for service delivery.
Outgoing RDC Asiimwe Amos expressed his appreciation for his time in Napak and pledged his continued support. He also affirmed his commitment to his new role in Pader, where he will replace Odongo.
