I would like to send my sincere gratitude to President Museveni and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces for his new cabinet ministers.
This time’s appointments have included quite a number of youthful ministers, which is very, very good, Mr President.
My message goes to those who are newly appointed ministers: you are going to occupy those offices, but please, those offices are not meant for excitement but are result-oriented offices.
Ugandans would be very happy to see that under the new cabinet, service delivery has improved, drugs are plenty in the health centres, roads are worked on well, and there’s a lot of business around the country.
Don’t use those offices for fighting others or sponsoring other people to contest against others because you have saved money meant for you to tour and monitor government projects.
Your actions will make Ugandans determine how to call you, either horrible ministers or honourable ministers.
Use those offices to create change in the lives of Ugandans. Remember, a minister who only sits in his or her office without going out to the field and feeling the real situation is not different from a person who goes to a burial wearing dark sunglasses without vehicle keys and looks like he is actually the one who killed the deceased.
