Manchester United have reached an agreement with Italian side Atalanta for the signing of Brazilian midfielder Éderson in a deal worth €45 million, marking one of the club’s first major moves in the upcoming transfer window.
The agreement includes a €40.5 million fixed fee, with a further €4.5 million in performance-related add-ons. The 26-year-old has already agreed personal terms on a long-term contract that runs until June 2030, with an option for an additional year.
Éderson is expected to undergo a medical before officially completing his move to Old Trafford in early July, pending final paperwork.
The Brazilian arrives at United as part of a planned midfield rebuild, with senior figures including Casemiro expected to depart, while uncertainty also surrounds the future of Manuel Ugarte. His arrival is seen as a key step in reshaping the team’s engine room ahead of a push for Champions League qualification in the 2026/27 season.
Éderson has earned a strong reputation in Serie A for his high-intensity playing style, combining defensive discipline with forward progression. At Atalanta, he played a crucial role in their European success, particularly during their Europa League-winning campaign.
