Singer Moses Sali (Bebe Cool) has been handed a 48-hour ultimatum by lawyers from Mbidde & Co Advocates, owned by politician and lawyer Mukasa Mbidde, representing former Miss Rwanda Jolly Mutesi, who are demanding an immediate apology and retraction over allegations he made against her on social media.
In a notice to sue dated June 17, 2026, Mutesi’s lawyers accuse the musician of falsely linking their client to fraud and scamming activities in posts published on his verified X account on June 16.
The lawyers say the allegations are false, defamatory and have severely damaged Mutesi’s reputation by portraying her as a criminal and fraudster before the public.
They insist that the phone number Bebe Cool relied on to accuse Mutesi has no connection to her and point to previous public warnings issued as early as October 2024 cautioning the public about fraudsters allegedly using the same number.
In a move that piles pressure on the “Love you everyday” hit maker, the lawyers argue that the information was publicly available and that Bebe Cool either knew, or ought to have known, that the accusations against Mutesi were unfounded before publishing them.
The legal team is demanding that he immediately stop making further allegations, delete or retract the offending statements, issue a public apology approved by them and disclose the source of the information he used. Failure to comply within 48 hours, they warn, will leave Mutesi with no option but to commence legal proceedings without further notice.
The notice also signals that the dispute could go beyond an ordinary defamation suit, with the lawyers citing possible civil and criminal consequences under laws governing cyber harassment and misuse of electronic communications.
With the clock already ticking, the Kiwatule based singer now has just two days to decide whether to swallow the pride and appologize or prepare for a costly court battle.
