Lubowa Police Arrest Five Suspects in Motorcycle Robbery Crackdown

The Police at Lubowa have recorded a major breakthrough in their fight against motorcycle robberies following the arrest of five suspects linked to a series of thefts in Lubowa and Ndejje areas between June 2025 and March 6, 2026.

The suspects include Kamoga Sharif, also known as Mugisha, 20, Byagaba Liberty, 20, Ssempungu Patrick, also known as Junior, 23, Ssegawa Stuart, 19, and Ssenyonga Denis, 25.

Police say the breakthrough came after an intelligence-led operation on February 5, 2026, in Kyengera Town Council, which led to the arrest of Kamoga Sharif. “Upon arrest, he cooperated with investigators and guided us to his accomplices,” a police spokesperson said.

So far, authorities have recovered one motorcycle, registration number UMA 663HM, which is believed to have been stolen and dismantled for parts. Investigators report that the suspects allegedly steal motorcycles, dismantle them, and sell the parts.

A total of 14 victims have been identified in connection with the thefts. Police are also following leads to arrest additional suspects and individuals suspected of facilitating the criminal activities.

“The operation demonstrates our commitment to tackling motorcycle thefts and ensuring the safety of our communities,” the spokesperson added.

Investigations are ongoing as police continue to track other members of the criminal network. Residents are urged to report any suspicious activity and to cooperate with authorities to prevent further robberies.

With continued intelligence-based operations and community support, the Lubowa Police are optimistic about curbing motorcycle theft in the area and bringing all perpetrators to justice.
