69 new recruits at the Kabalye Police Training School in Masindi district have been arrested and are under investigation for presenting forged academic documents. The issue came to light on July 20, 2024, when ACP Ezekiel Emitu Ebapu, the commandant of the training school, reported the matter to Masindi Police Station.

Between July 13 and July 20, 2024, the recruits, who had recently joined the training as probation police constables, were found to have submitted fraudulent documents to the police verification team from the Uganda Police Force’s human resource department. The documents, intended to support their eligibility for training, were later identified as fakes.

The discovery led the commandant of Kabalye Police Training School to formally report the case to the authorities. A team of officers from Masindi Police Station, led by ASP Simon Ochiti Peter, the Officer in Charge of Criminal Investigations Division (CID) at Masindi, was dispatched to Kabalye to carry out a thorough investigation.
