Five Catholic nuns recently made their perpetual vows in a joyous ceremony at Gulu Archdiocese, committing their lives in devoted service to the Lord. Additionally, 12 other nuns celebrated significant anniversaries, marking the longevity of their commitment to their religious calling.

Among the newly professed nuns was Rev. Sr Mary Mildred Ajidir, 32, hailing from Pokea Parish, Arua Diocese. Her journey began in 2015 as an aspirant, and after years of dedicated service, she made her perpetual vow to serve the Lord. Reflecting on her decision, Sr Ajidir expressed gratitude for the day, considering it the happiest in her life.

The ceremony also recognized other nuns, including seven celebrating their silver jubilee, three marking their golden jubilee, and two commemorating their diamond jubilee. Notably, Rev. Sr Anastasia Ozitiru, 86, from Lodonga Parish, Yumbe District, marked an impressive 60 years of service, making her the oldest among the 17 nuns who professed their vows during the 79th Profession of Little Sisters of Mary Immaculate of Gulu.
