Kakumiro Residents Plan Thanksgiving Prayers for James Kisembo

Kakumiro, Uganda — The Residents of Bugangaizi West Constituency in Kakumiro District are mobilising to hold a thanksgiving prayer service in honour of parliamentary aspirant Kakumiro Residents Plan Thanksgiving Prayers for James Kisembo, whom they describe as a leader committed to transforming the constituency.

According to local residents, the planned prayers are intended to thank God for protecting Kisembo and to seek divine guidance and blessings for his future political ambitions.

Kisembo, the son of veteran politician and former State Minister for Economic Monitoring in the Office of the President, Baltazar Kasirivu-Atwooki, was nominated by the Electoral Commission to contest for the Bugangaizi West parliamentary seat in the previous general elections.

However, his candidature was later nullified following allegations that some of the signatures supporting his nomination had been forged. Despite reportedly presenting individuals he said had genuinely endorsed his nomination, Kisembo’s candidature was not reinstated, and the incumbent Member of Parliament, Fred Byamukama, was subsequently declared unopposed.

The development sparked mixed reactions among sections of the electorate, with some residents maintaining that Kisembo remained their preferred candidate.

Michael Ayebale, a resident of Bugangaizi West, said preparations are underway for a thanksgiving prayer gathering aimed at expressing gratitude to God for Kisembo’s well-being and encouraging him to remain active in community affairs.

“We want to thank God for protecting him and pray for his future. Many people believed in his vision for the constituency, and we hope he continues working closely with the community,” Ayebale said.

He added that many residents had high expectations of development projects that Kisembo had promised during his political campaigns and expressed optimism about his future participation in leadership.

Several residents have also appealed to Kisembo to remain engaged with the people of Bugangaizi West, saying his continued presence in the constituency gives hope to many community members.

The planned thanksgiving prayers are expected to bring together supporters, community leaders, and residents from different parts of the constituency.

Kisembo has yet to publicly comment on the planned event.
