US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order mandating the use of the term “sex” instead of “gender” in government documents. He also revoked 78 executive orders issued by President Biden, including measures on racial equality and LGBT rights.
The executive order, signed by Trump, abolishes the term “gender” and mandates the exclusive use of “sex” in all official government documents. This includes identification documents such as passports and visas, which must now reflect an individual’s “unalterable biological classification as male or female.”
Trump quickly moved to fulfill his campaign promises by reversing key policies introduced by the Biden administration, which had promoted diversity measures across the federal government.
As part of his efforts, Trump rescinded 78 of Biden’s executive orders, many of which focused on promoting racial equality and addressing discrimination against the LGBTQ+ community.
In a related move, Donald Trump has also signed an executive order reinstating the federal death penalty in the United States. The order facilitates assistance to states in acquiring lethal injection drugs and directs the Department of Justice to actively seek the death penalty.
