Adventist faithful from across the West Buganda Field embarked on a blessed new year together, gathering at Kigalama playground for a powerful corporate prayer event. This spiritual kickoff not only allowed reflection on the past year but also ignited fervent hope for the future.
Leading the congregation in heartfelt prayer was Bishop Godfrey Lubwama, his words laden with gratitude for overcoming 2023 and brimming with fervent wishes for protection, provision, and prosperity in the year ahead. He emphasized the vital role of unwavering faith in Jesus and a passionate commitment to sharing His message, aiming to see a wave of new believers join their ranks.
Nurturing strong families is another pillar of the church’s vision. Bishop Lubwama championed the creation of model households where harmony reigns, nurturing God-fearing children who uphold the law. This focus on resilient family units dovetails with the broader goal of building a virtuous and united community.
Economic empowerment also takes center stage for the West Buganda Field, encompassing areas like Mityana, Kassanda, and Mubende. Bishop Lubwama shared the aspiration to see a rise in income and financial stability across the region, hand in hand with the development of critical infrastructure. He urged Christians to actively seek out promising opportunities, such as government programs, to pave the way for a secure and prosperous future.
Pastor Ivan Ssebaggala, a guiding light as the Uganda Union Director for Chaplaincy, delivered the event’s central sermon, urging the congregation to entrust their year to God’s loving hands. Acknowledging the hardships many Ugandans faced, he resonated hope by declaring that God held the key to overcoming every obstacle.
As the prayer event drew to a close, a momentous baptism ceremony unfolded. Over two hundred newly committed Christians emerged from the waters, symbolizing a profound spiritual renewal and their deepening dedication to their faith. The air vibrated with joy and promise, marking a vibrant new chapter for the West Buganda Field and its ever-growing flock.
