Pastor Margaret Byenkya emphasized the importance of embracing God’s teachings during the opening ceremony of the three-day annual youth conference held at Kiryatete Fellowship Ministries in Hoima city in a bid to foster a sense of spiritual guidance and positive values among young individuals.
Byenkya expressed the belief that children who wholeheartedly embrace God’s word are more likely to maintain a clear vision and avoid engaging in negative behaviors. The primary goal of the conference, she explained, is to break what she termed the “chain of bad spirits” that often lead young people astray.
Saviour Bwengye, the youth’s chairperson under the Kiryatete Fellowship Ministries, echoed Byenkya’s sentiments, emphasizing that the conference specifically aims to address issues such as alcoholism, theft, and prostitution among the youth. The overarching objective is to guide them back towards a path centered on faith and spirituality.
The annual fellowship, organized by the church, serves as a platform to provide guidance and nurture young individuals, fostering a closer connection to God. Participants, including church leaders from Bunyoro subregion and beyond, come together to share insights and experiences, creating an environment conducive to spiritual growth.
One notable attendee, Samuel Mukonyezi, shared his personal journey with the annual fellowship. Having attended for the past two decades, he attested to the positive impact it has had on his life. Mukonyezi, now 33 and married to a woman he first met at the conference, credits the gathering for contributing significantly to his personal development.
The conference addresses not only the spiritual aspect but also serves as a platform for social connections. Various church leaders from Bunyoro subregion and beyond converge to participate, fostering a sense of community among attendees. This convergence allows for the exchange of ideas and experiences, enriching the overall impact of the fellowship.
