Today, at the Basic Military Training School in Kaweweta, Nakaseke District, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Chief of Defence Forces and Senior Presidential Advisor – Special Operations, delivered a lecture on servant leadership to Officer Cadets of Intake 18/long.
During his lecture, General Kainerugaba emphasized the significance of servant leadership as a potent approach that can instigate positive transformation within the military through acts of exemplary service. He underlined the impact of one’s actions on others, stating, “Human beings are inspired by your actions.”
The General imparted valuable insights on the attributes of a servant leader, highlighting qualities such as empathy and humility. He stressed the importance of understanding the feelings and circumstances of the troops under their command, urging the Cadets to prioritize the welfare of their subordinates and provide support during challenging times.
Furthermore, General Kainerugaba urged the Cadets to continually strive for self-improvement and embrace a mindset of learning from their experiences and the wisdom of others. He emphasized that leadership is not about perfection but rather about ongoing personal and professional growth.
The lecture was attended by notable figures including Brigadier General Bonny Geoffrey Wolimbwa, the Commandant of the Basic Military Training School – Kaweweta, senior officers, and instructors from the institution. Their presence underscored the significance of the topic and the importance of cultivating servant leadership within the military ranks.
