OPINION: Afande Muhoozi, your true supporters are not in Kampala but in upcountry

In the 2021 general elections, I was so excited when President Museveni lost votes to NUP candidate Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi in the Buganda region, but still Mzee was able to emerge a winner in that general election because of the support he has from upcountry supporters.

Initially, our brothers from Buganda region had thought that without Buganda, President Museveni would never win a presidential election. That perception was challenged by the election results.

This is why I am advising our next leader, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba: yes, you can have attention in central Uganda, but much attention should be put on upcountry, where people really appreciate the current government and the reason why they would want you to take over after Mzee.

Do not be convinced by the attendance of those who flooded Kololo, running to celebrate your birthday. They were not honest. Thanks, you didn’t turn up physically to be with them because their target was to hide behind your back against their various cases they have in court and also pending cases ranging from land grabbing, embezzlement, and job hunting.

Afande Gen., if you want to weigh the support you have, leave Kampala alone for now and move to Eastern region, Karamoja region, Lango region, Acholi region, West Nile region, then finally go to Kampala and compare.

Remember, the millions of shillings they used for buying your birthday run kits—when you follow it critically—it is from stolen coffers, and because they have known you are now about to net them properly, they decided to rush and buy your run kits thinking they are trying to sweet-talk you. Please, when you reach them with the evidence, arrest them all.

I would suggest to you again that we organise an MK health camp run, and its launch should be in any upcountry city, either Gulu, Soroti, Mbale, Mbarara, Arua, or Karamoja.

The local people with genuine support should be the ones to own MK activities and be at the forefront of mobilisation.
